Our state of being in the 21st century
How do people nowadays really feel? We have developed highly effective medical science, but do we really feel better in a holistic sense? How do we deal with the complexity, the inconsistencies and the stress of everyday life? What actually makes us ill? Which competencies must we develop and what range of solutions must we offer so that people can live better and enjoy better health?
The western conception of health concentrates on measures for the efficient treatment of illness, whereas eastern cultures have traditionally emphasized the prevention of illness through appropriate measures and by strengthening the organism as a whole. We attempt to bridge the gap between the two approaches and take as our orientation an ancient Chinese concept: A doctor was paid according to the number of people in his area of responsibility who were in good health.
